Sodium Hyaluronate

Sodium hyaluronate is the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid. Highly water-soluble with excellent water-binding capacity, it forms a hydrating film on the skin surface that limits transepidermal water loss. Different molecular weights serve different claims: high molecular weight favours surface hydration and sensory improvement, while low molecular weight targets penetration and long-lasting moisturisation.

Recommended usage

Typical use level is 0.05–0.5%. For high molecular weight grades, pre-disperse in water before adding to the main phase to avoid clumping.
